Project Update: Riverfront Park North Suspension Bridge Project Update

By June 14, 2021 No Comments

Garco Construction is the general contractor for this bridge project located in Riverfront Park, Spokane, WA. The bridge is in need of a new deck, repair/replacement of corroded steel floor beams, and repair/replacement of lighting and electrical components. A bridge study had identified the need for a new deck and other structural upgrades, and damage from the winter 2018/2019 season sped up the timeline for needed repairs. “The north and south suspension bridges were built for Expo ‘74, and offer up-close views of the roaring river falls. Because of their age, they are in need of significant repair, and we’re grateful for the funding collaboration to restore these iconic bridges for the next 50 years,” said Garrett Jones, Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Spokane.

  • Removing hand rails
