Garco Construction Celebrates Safety Week 2019
No choice is more important than the choice to work safe
Spokane, Wash. & Tacoma, Wash. —
Garco Construction is excited to once again celebrate and participate in Safety Week, a construction industry-wide education and awareness event. They will join forces with other construction firms across the U.S. and Canada for 2019 Safety Week held May 6-10.
Every single day, Garco employees step into offices and onto jobsites ready for another day’s work. In these roles, they face hundreds of choices, but none are more important than the choice to work safe. Garco team members hold themselves accountable for their decisions and the actions and results that follow.
President Clancy Welsh says, “When we focus on safety, we protect ourselves, our families, and the communities in which we live and work. As individuals, project teams, and as a company, we are safe by choice.” He adds, “This week is a chance to renew our focus and celebrate the commitment all of our employees have to keeping each other safe.”
Garco will celebrate at their jobsites with toolbox talks, site presentations and additional focus on safety in areas like inspections and fall prevention.
Safety is fundamental to success for Garco. To ensure that safety is a top priority, all Garco superintendents and foremen receive in-house and outside continuing education of current safety procedures and Federal/State OSHA and ACOE EM 385-1-1 regulations. Moreover, each new employee at Garco receives a complete orientation from their supervisor prior to working in the field.
