Westwood Middle School was a design-bid-build project for the Cheney School District. The project included the construction of a new 110,750 SF middle school located at a new 38.5 acre site. The new 1.5 story building features a central commons area with three classroom wings and gymnasium wing. The building is constructed with conventional structural steel framing and light gage steel stud walls. The exterior envelope is made up of masonry, cement fiber board wall panels, architectural metal wall panels, TPO roofing, metal roof panels and aluminum storefront/curtain wall. The new building includes a 7,500 SF commons area, a 1,800 SF stage, a 4,000 SF library, 4,200 SF locker room area, a 12,500 SF gymnasium, a 4,500 SF wrestling/aerobics room, a 2,500 SF kitchen, 6,800 SF of administration area and 32 classrooms.
