The Shadle Branch Library project (Spokane, WA) includes renovation of and addition to the existing Library. There are also related site improvements within the boundaries of the lot for access to the expanded library and the rest of Shadle Park. At 17,800 square feet, the Shadle Library (2111 W. Wellesley Ave.) was undersized for its role as a destination library for the north side of Spokane. The Shadle Library was expanded to approximately 30,000 square feet to meet the level of demand for additional and modern library spaces and services. The original building was preserved and includes new interior spaces, such as meetings rooms and maker spaces. This expansion toward the intersection of Wellesley and Belt increases the presence of Shadle Library along the Wellesley thoroughfare.
