The 42,000 SF aircraft maintenance and paint facility is owned by Spokane International Airport and leased by Associated Painters of Washington. This design-bid-build project was constructed of conventional steel and erected by Garco Construction iron workers. The building was designed to house two 737 aircrafts and the mechanical systems were designed to allow for both painting bays to operate simultaneously, even when the stages of painting demand the systems to perform different sequences of operation. The building utilizes a 6-leaf bypass hangar door (181’ x 48’) to allow planes direct access to both hangar bays. In addition, two lower roof support spaces serve as office and material handling areas.
