Garco-WEMCO Joint Venture was contracted to perform the structural, mechanical, and electrical rehabilitation of the Libby Powerhouse Gantry Crane. The structural work included, but was not limited to removing existing and installing new ladders, walkways, handrails, and the bulkhead platform. The mechanical work included, but was not limited to removing the existing trolleys, designing and installing new trolleys, and a new hoist and bulkhead lifting beam. The electrical work included, but was not limited to the replacement of all electrical equipment for hoist, trolley, and gantry functions and controls; the only exception was the gantry motors were reused. The operator’s cab was modified and a new electrification bar system was installed.
