The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Seattle District (NWS) selected Garco Construction to repair the Type III hydrant fuel, airfield pavement and intrusion detection systems serving aircraft parking spots 25 through 28 to make them serviceable for parking and fueling KC-135 and other large airframe aircraft. This project includes replacing 18” carbon steel piping with 12” lined carbon steel piping from the pumphouse to Spot 28 and creating a looped system, reconstructing all pavements for KC-135 parking spots 25-28, extending the intrusion detection system to serve these parking spots, and properly disposing of and replacing any contaminated soils disturbed.
