The Evergreen Middle School project included demolition to existing structure, modernization of the existing 76,570 SF building, new play fields and tennis courts, bus and fire lanes, landscaping, parking and various site improvements. A 27,000 SF addition brings new classroom space, restrooms, relocated kitchen and library and expanded multi-purpose room. The additional areas will also provide the necessary space to relocate educational programs previously housed in portables on the east side of the building.

The three-phased, aggressive schedule included three separate substantial completion and district move-in dates. The building was occupied with students, staff and faculty during two of the three phases. Proper planning with the entire project team enabled Garco to turn over phase two of the project two months ahead of schedule. This allowed for the completion of the main entry early and the administration staff to occupy their space early allowing proper public access to the school earlier than expected.
