By July 31, 2020 No Comments

We’re loving the new Meet the Team Monday post series on social media where we can introduce you to new staff and get to know our existing team. So we thought it’d be nice to round up all the staff featured each month in a blog post to have on our site. We hope you enjoy learning more about our team too!

Get to Know Garco: Meet the Team Monday July Featured Team

Kathy has been with Garco for almost 20 years. She says, “I certainly feel lucky to have worked at Garco for this long.” Over the years Kathy has worked in several areas from preparing bid proposals, managing the office, assisting the owners and organizing company events. She notes, “Those are always so much fun to do. One of my favorites was the parking lot party for Garco’s 40th Anniversary.” Kathy always tries to help where needed, sharing, “My job has been very fulfilling and I feel that my work has been appreciated. I truly enjoy the people I work with.” Kathy enjoys spending her free time with her husband, children and their four wonderful grandchildren. They like to be outdoors and you can often find them camping and fishing together. Kathy also has a soft spot for cute farm animals.

Deborah’s been with Garco for 14 years and works in the Spokane office as a project administrator. She says, “I love the family feel that Garco offers along with the teamwork. I’ve worked on many of the schools in the Spokane area and it always feels great knowing I’ve contributed in some way to a better learning environment for our kids.” Deborah brings more than 25 years of experience to the team and we are so glad she’s a part of it! Deborah grew up in Las Vegas and moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2003. She wanted her kids, who were then ages 10 and 11, to grow up in a nice area like the Inland Northwest. Now days, she’s an empty-nester and stays busy with dog rescue, painting pottery and working in her yard. Someday she hopes to visit Alaska and go whale watching!

Ara works out of the Spokane office but is also often out all of our job sites in the field. She’s been with Garco for just over two years now and says, “It has been a great opportunity for me to be part of a professional safety team that works daily to promote both a safe work environment along with safe behaviors. While there can be similar safety issues, every job site has a different experience so that drives me to quickly adapt, problem solve and be better than the day before.” Ara shares with us that, “When you work at Garco you have really chosen to be surrounded by the highest caliber of people that value the word ‘teamwork.’”

Outside of work Ara has three very active boys that she keeps up with, and a new puppy Miss Molly that they welcomed to their family during the current pandemic. Most weekends you can catch Ara at the baseball fields, enjoying friends or family, or being outdoors.

Brandon’s been with Garco just over a year and is working at the Wilson Elementary School project. Brandon enjoys being on site and outside of the office. He says, “I feel like being here (on the job site) first-hand and seeing the whole project progress has really helped me with the whole learning process. Everyone at Garco is very helpful, respectful, and kind. No matter who you ask, everyone on the team is always there to lend a helping hand or answer questions.” When Brandon’s not at the job site, you can find him hunting, fishing, golfing or snowboarding … depending on the season. He is also a huge sports fan, but NBA is his favorite. Brandon also shares, “I am the first one in my entire family to graduate from a university. My brother also did shortly after me. We both graduated from Eastern Washington University.” Well done Brandon!
