We’re loving the Meet the Team Monday post series on social media where we can introduce you to new staff and get to know our existing team. Get to Know Garco: Meet the Team Monday August Featured Team

JOSH LONG – SUPERINTENDENT

He’s been with Garco for 14 years and is currently running the Shadle Library project. He says his favorite thing about Garco is, “the friendly atmosphere,” and what he enjoys most about his job is, “navigating through new challenges on each project.” When he’s not at work you’ll find him spending time with his wife and taking care of their 8-month-old baby boy. Together they also enjoy gardening, landscaping or working on their house.

JAKE WALKER – SUPERINTENDENT

Jake’s been with Garco for 14 years and is currently working in Ellensburg, WA on the Mount Stuart and New Elementary school projects. What does Jake like most about working at Garco? He says, “I enjoy the family atmosphere and feeling like I am part of the bigger picture. I am thankful that Garco has given me the opportunity to grow within the company.” In his free time Jake enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. They enjoy the outdoors, and activities like camping biking and snowboarding. We’re glad you’re part of the Garco team Jake!

KATHY WESTLAKE – SUPERINTENDENT

Kathy’s been with Garco for three decades, sharing, “Over the 30 years that I have worked for Garco, the family atmosphere has remained. I have made so many lifelong friends. I love that!”
In her free time Kathy enjoys skiing. She and her husband Jim ski year-round. Together they camp in parking lots and beaches to make that happen. Kathy also likes to travel, go four-wheeling, boating, gardening and of course entertaining their four grandchildren. One of her favorite hobbies is building on her house and shop. She shares, “I don’t mistake it for a “goal.” My friends call it the Winchester House. When I get close to finishing, I add on or remodel.”

BREA LARUE – PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR

Brea’s been with Garco for 10 years and works out of the Spokane Office. Brea says, “I enjoy the opportunities to work on a variety of projects, with multiple project teams; each one is unique and exciting! The thing I love most about Garco though, is that you feel like a member of a huge construction family. I have been part of that Garco family for a long time. My dad started working for Garco, when I was in my early teens, so I have had the opportunity to enjoy many amazing company picnics and events over the years.” Fun fact, Brea actually met her husband Sean (also a Garco team member) at a Garco Company picnic.

Outside of work, Brea enjoys summit hiking, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing … basically anything outdoors. During the summer, she spends most of her time at Priest Lake enjoying the sun and water out on their boat. Brea has been married to her husband Sean for 24 years and together they have two daughters, Hailey (23) who is in the US Coast Guard and Taylar (20) who is in nursing school. They also have a beloved Weimaraner dog name Gus.

BO WISINGER – IRONWORKER SUPERINTENDENT

Bo’s been with Garco for over 11 years and is currently at the Washington State Convention Center project. He says, “My role at Garco is very rewarding to me. I get to see projects go from the ground up and I like having a hand in that. I like working for Garco because of the family-like feeling and environment.”

Outside of work he enjoys watching his kids participate in all their endeavors, the good and bad. His hobbies are being outside with his family hunting, fishing, and boating. He notes, “Just being with my family outside doing almost anything!” A fun fact about Bo is that he did rodeo until his early 20s. He says, “I gave it up to start a family and a career.” The picture shown is of their family vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina earlier this year. They went to see their oldest son, who is stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. They hadn’t seen him since he was deployed to Afghanistan last July. He adds, “It had been a year since we had seen him, so it was a fabulous trip!”
